Census

From the age of 16, every French citizen must register. They are then issued a registration certificate and may be requested for certain procedures, such as when registering for the baccalaureate.

This process allows the administration to summon those registered to participate in Defense and Citizenship Day, but also to automatically register them on the electoral roll from the age of 18.

The census can be completed directly at your town hall, upon presentation of a valid ID and a current family record book. This process can also be completed online via your France Connect account.
